The quest for Mindfulness is hardly a new idea – it’s the foundation of the most ancient myths – but it’s certainly in the zeitgeist now. World affairs, natural disasters and a pervasive lack of good news have led to Time magazine coming out with a special edition entitled “Mindfulness” and before that, Newsweek published one on “Spirituality.”
Roaming through Barnes and Noble the other day, we found the front display table was filled with books on “Flow” and journals for inner peace. It appears we’re all searching for a little peace in life.
Happily, there is really no end to the ways that we can achieve – or at least explore – mindfulness. It’s a matter of finding the path that works for you.
WE ALL NEED TO ASK FOR DIRECTIONS!
We’ve created a roadmap for Mindfulness that we lovingly call our “GPS for the Soul.” THE BUDDHA TRAVEL PATHFINDER is a compilation of paths to conscious living, organized in a Matrix so you can pick any topic that interests you and find information. We’ll explore these topics in future newsletters, and offer you resources and experiences to help you determine which path to a more mindful existence is right for you!

MINDFULNESS THROUGH MYTH
The Buddha Travel Pathfinder begins at the source: World Mythologies. Ancient myths lay the foundation for mindfulness in surprisingly relevant ways regardless of the indigenous culture of origin, and they provide fascinating topics for a series of Buddha Travel Approved Retreats beginning in February 2018. Our exposure to the Maya culture of Mexico greatly influenced our choice to begin there with three “Mysteries of Maya” retreats throughout the year.
Experience the mystical places and teachings of Mayan scholar and shaman, Miguel Angel Vergara on one of our Buddha Travel Approved retreats and for a preview, listen to his free weekly reading on our website.

We believe that mindfulness is the key to igniting greater creativity, so we took a completely different turn on the path for our very first Buddha Travel Approved Retreat – Music! For both hobbyists and professionals, our “We Came to Play Guitar” retreat will take place at Hacienda Viva Sotuta de Peon, near Merida, Mexico. Check out our conversation with retreat leader, guitarist David Barrett, and learn how he took his own music to a completely new level through Meditation. And sign up early for the retreat being held January 30 through February 5 to take advantage of a significant discount.
