Puerto Aventuras is the first featured location for the upcoming Buddha Travel Approved Retreat presented by Master teacher Alain Phillips. Puerto Aventuras is a private gated community located in the Riviera Maya between Playa del Carmen and Tulum in the Solidaridad Municipality, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Puerto Aventuras is considered the center for sport fishing in the Riviera Maya and activities, hotels and restaurants abound.
Many foreigners live in Puerto Aventuras full or part time so the community has an international feel. It is quiet, safe, patrolled around the clock, and hosts the area’s only maritime museum. Visitors enjoy the small town feel of this development built at the center of the Riviera Maya near some of the most famous ancient Maya sites. Puerto Aventuras offers many opportunities to learn about and enjoy maritime wildlife, including swimming with dolphins and manatees, sailing, sport fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving. The area also offers the beaches of one of the three bays, Fatima, Chan Yu Yum or Chac Hal Al, where retreat participants will enjoy sunrise meditations and Chi Kung lessons.
There are many international dining options in Puerto Aventuras, and no chain restaurants! El pueblito on the marina is an open-air food court where you can dine while watching the resident dolphins in action.
Much of the area is largely residential, and businesses, restaurants, and hotels must adhere to the strict zoning regulations. The community has a very private, neighborhood feeling, making the area ideal for an intimate retreat like “The Threshold of Your True Potential” with Phillips. Puerto Aventuras is also located near to a number of attractions that are included in the retreat itinerary, including Xenxes Theme Park where participants learn to discover the power of the senses in a stimulating environment.
