As we move into a new year, we offer these thoughts for 12 months of renewal, inspired by the content of the Buddha Travel Pathfinder that we will be following with our community in the next year. We hope you will harness these intentions to take care of yourself, find positivity and peace, and enjoy a more conscious, loving time in the year ahead.
January – Renew Your Body! Be sure to get enough rest and detox your body after a high-energy season.
February – Build Up Your Energy! Seek out the sun in a warm location or embrace the elements and enjoy the quiet of a snowfall and read inspirational books. Try the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu. We like the translation by Stephen Mitchell, but there are many to choose from.
March – Get Ready For Spring! Release any negative effects of winter with massage, reiki or acupuncture. Celebrate the start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere on the Vernal Equinox, March 20.
April – Ignite Your Energy! Start moving outside again – walk, run, or in the colder climes, deepen your yoga practice in front of a warm fire!

May – Listen To The Earth Move! Be deeply conscious of the earth’s gifts, and the miracle of renewal as nature blooms again. If you haven’t already, plant something and watch it grow throughout the summer.
June –Recognize Your Own Light Within! It’s the month of the Solstice — the Longest Day in the Northern Hemisphere, the shortest in the Southern. You’ve been working on yourself, now enjoy time with others, share the joy with your family, your work community and your spiritual community.
July – Connect To Your Inner Child! Have fun in the sun, be fully present in the moment with yourself and with nature around you, whether at home or on vacation.
August – Find Balance and Harmony! This month we observe the Autumnal Equinox when our days are balanced again. Maintaining a routine of exercise will aid you as the seasons shift.
September – Embrace The Change! With the coming change of season, seek clarity through renewed meditation practice, be deliberate in your goals. Read The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz and Janet Mills.
October – Resonate Your Consciousness! Deeply sense the beauty of nature and acknowledge the inner changes the natural cycles bring. Seek out healers and be inspired by the teachings of Indigenous cultures like the ancient Maya in the Popol Vuh or the Indian epic of The Ramayana.
November – Find Your Gratitude! Look back and give thanks for the year you have experienced, and recognize your strength going into the next season of celebration!
December – Celebrate! You have taken all of these steps and are living a more conscious, ever more mindful life. Share that energy with your loved ones!
And, it is our hope that you will have shared it with us in the Buddha Travel community.
