When we die where does our Consciousness go?

I have come to understand the process of death as I age, mostly because I have been with close Family members when they have transcended. Most recently I was with my step Father when he passed, and it was a powerful process for me to be part of and to hold his hand when he took his last breath.

As we age and say good bye to our loved ones, the concept of our own mortality becomes a subject that is more urgent then it was when we were young and unknowing of such things as death.
We begin to ask questions, such as is this all there is?
Is there really Life after Death? Or is it just more bullshit we were given so that we could be controlled and manipulated in some religious structure?

Some people believe that our ‘consciousness is somehow equated with breath’, and that when the body dies the consciousness or what others call the Soul continues on re-entering some other life force in an effort to satisfy karmic debt or lessons we did not learn well. Not sure how this works but I am still listening.
What I know as an absolute fact is that as we are made of energy, science has proven this in many ways. Further, that we are the same energy as the Universe, and when we ‘pass’ our ‘consciousness or energy’ simply returns to the source of its creation. The Maya see this as the great Spirit. In Maya teachings as an example, there is a Body, Soul and a Spirit.
The Body, obviously is seen as a ‘container’ for both the Soul which emanates from our Heart like a warm fire and flow’s when we do good, or receive good during our Life. The Spirit is the energy that unifies us with the ‘Spirit World’ of the Universe, the energy of the Creator, and joins us at the inception of our being, and continues on when our body is depleted.
I believe that ‘life after death’, which is really Light!
The religious doctrines and dictates prefer to talk about their defined gods. Every religion after all has at least one.

All our life we resonate with the same energy mass that was created at that moment of our inception through millions of atoms, so it is logical, is it not, that when our body ceases to produce sustainable energy, we simply stop. All functions cease. So where does the energy go? I believe it is assimilated into the Light of the Universe from where it was created in the beginning of time.
What can we do in this life to be certain that we are ‘conscious at our moment of death and transcendence to assure that we will enter the Light?
Do good. Be good. Practice and learn how to become more aware of our true Nature.
And increasingly live in love and light,

February 7th, 2017 Sotuta de Peon, standing in meditation in the centre of the Universe as it unfolds beneath my feet, immersed in the mosaic of Mother Earth as the colours dance before me, an ever present beat of the drum circle, enveloping my physical body and setting free my Soul and Spirt, moving the huge wings of the sacred Eagle, ascending into the dreamscape of Father Sky with patterns of brilliant, shimmering colours and the light that guides me as I move through this Life, ever closer to the ultimate Light of the Creator.
© Surrender to the Light, is a gift to believe that those who leave us in this Life, truly go to a much better place.
Love and Light
